A Quick Hello!

I realize that I am about 12 hours late for my post of the day, but I worked last night and was exhausted when I got home. My mom came by to watch the kids and I crashed out. I was very happy to sleep!! When I woke up, every inch of my body was sore. It was a busy night.. and I would like to think that it burnt a lot of calories! So far today I have had two Satiatrims and some grapes.. after being up for 36 hours I kinda lost my appetite. Dinner is pasta, so that should bring my energy level back to par. Hopefully I can get in a couple of miles on the treadmill before bed tonight.

I had a patient last night that made me want to lose weight. Not that I want to say anything bad about this person. I definitely understand how she got as heavy as she was.... but I just saw how miserable she was. Granted she had just had a c-section... she was so heavy she couldn't keep herself clean. She had sores all over her body from the skin folding over and creating these crevices that never got air. Part of my job was to help her get cleaned up and ready to start taking care of their new baby. The whole time I was helping her all I could think of was... I cant get this big... Please, Lord, don't let me get this big. It was sad to think she was in her early 20's and already miserable.

It gave me a little kick in the butt. One of many that I will need to keep going.

Find your focus and make the rest of the day wonderful!

It does help to see people that big because as you said, you never want to become that big and you will end up working that much harder to keep it off. Keep up the good work.

Nothing like a wake up call hey? Sounds like you have just as interesting a job as I do! :) One day at a time! Let's do it.

It really is a wakeup call when you start thinking about the problems those people have instead of just how they look.
Glad to hear you were able to get in a good nap!

Wow, that is gross and also sad. I read about this very obese woman that had been pregnant and nobody knew. One day she went to the bathroom and plopped out the baby.
