Undoing the Stress

Ok, so last night I put in my 2 weeks notice at work. I love this job...delivering babies, what could be a better job? But working nights (6pm-6am) two nights a week on top of having to take care of my kids and doing house work... it just kills me. I feel like I can never catch up on sleep. I fall asleep just sitting on the couch in the middle of a movie... or as soon as hubby gets home I go to bed... what kind of life is that. Besides all that, hubby and I sat down and worked out the math. Because he has to leave work early on the days I have to work.. and then does not get to work until later the next morning... we are actually coming out under. He makes so much more then I do, so it is actually pointless for me to be doing this. My goal now? To continue my schooling... get my Paramedic... so that when the girls are in school I can return to work on an ambulance.. or in the ER.

As for the diet... I have to say that last night was the first night of work that I did not snack and munch all night long. So I feel pretty good this morning. I have been drinking a ton of water... the fact that its been 100 degrees outside has probably helped that too. I have quite a bit of work to do this morning... mostly in the yard. ugh. We have an appraiser coming ... and yes, I am exhausted.

Exercise... today I am hoping, again, to get a bike ride in. Maybe while the appraiser is here! I also have a Pilates dvd that I want to do to... maybe tonight... and I am going to try all those great ab workouts you guys mentioned!!

I hate that you've quit your job, but it he really makes that much more, there's no sense in keeping it. I know I wouldn't want to work nights myself, so I do understand. Good job not snacking last night!!!

Yeah, I do the snacking thing when I'm trying to stay awake too. Good job on not doing it last night. Also, I don't blame you for giving your notice. It's hard working nights and then having the energy to keep up with kids, house, and hubby. Going back to school is a great idea.

I ordered the pattern for the wall mural from www.wallnutz.com
and I get the Ralph Marston quotes from http://minerva.athenet.net/~mkd/help4u.htm

Enjoy!!! (o;

Wow, thats a huge step for you. But I understand shift work and it runs my life right now. If its the best for you - then its what you have to do. Always take care of number yourself first. Take care.
